At AnimeNYC it was announced during the To Your Eternity panel that the series is getting a brand-new documentary titled The Roots of To Your Eternity, and it will be streamed globally on Crunchyroll starting August 29th. This is with an exception to Japan. The documentary highlights how the series was created, and released before its third season release in October 2025.

The documentary will include exclusive interviews with he manga’s creator Yoshitoki Oima, season 2 director and now season 3 chief director Kiyoko Sayama, and other involved in the production. Narration will be provided by Kenjiro Tsuda (Nanami from Jujustu Kaisen).

Oima’s original manga ran from November 2016 to June 2025 then finished in publication after 25 volumes. Kondasha USA is publishing the manga in English.

The first anime aired in August 2021, followed by the second season in October 2022. For the upcoming third season, Sota Yokote will be stepping down as director, and Kiyoko Sayama will be taking the role as chief director. Returning staff includes, Shinzo Fujita (series composition), Koji Yabuno (character design), Ryo Kawasaki (music), and Takeshi Takadera (sound director). The Animation will be produced by Drive and STUDIO MASSKET.
