Asato Asato, the author of the light novel series, 86 Eighty-Six, will be entering it’s final arc in volume 13th with it being titled, District 86.

The 86 Eighty-Six light novel series began in April 2017 under Kadokawa’s Dengeki Bunko imprint, featuring illustrations by Shirabi (known for Myriad Colors Phantom World) and mechanical designs by I-IV. The manga adaptation is being drawn by Motoki Yoshihara, and is being serialized in Square Enix’s Young Gangan magazine.

The light novels were adapted into a television anime that first premiered in April 2021. The series aired in two separate cours, with the second cour released in October 2021.

Yen Press is releasing the manga in English and describes the story as:

The frontlines are exhausted. Rocked by the relentless onslaught of Legion, the Eighty-Six face additional hardship with the constant influx of refugees. Rumors have begun to spread.
